The New Normal is a program dedicated to assisting members of the Military, Police Force, and EMS/Fire Fighters in getting help for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
As members of these groups are exposed to situations that civilians rarely if ever experience we believe it is important to provide support to these people for what may develop as a result.
PTDS affects a growing number of men and women in service of our country. It is largely misunderstood and there is still a negative social stigma associated with being diagnosed with the disorder. These men and women are finding it hard to get the help they need while not jeopardizing their jobs and ways of life.
The New Normal attempts to fill the gap that is currently lacking between society/departmental perception and the reality of the situation. It is a place where men and women in public service organizations can come and get help anonymously.
The program aims to be supported by members of the Fire Department, EMS, Police Departments, Military. The program also aims to provide medical advice from doctors who sponsor the program.
The New Normal will do this by providing an anonymous private forum through which people may discuss the problems they are facing, seek advice on how to deal with interaction with their respective agencies, and find support from other people who suffer the same disorder and wish to benefit others with their experiences.
If you frequent other forums and wish to keep your anonymity use a different username in our forum. If you are still serving on the job also watch how much information you release in your profile.
